Conor Gallagher is set to be subject of interest from multiple Premier League clubs in January.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder has struggled for regular first-team football this season, starting just four games across all competitions.
His lack of minutes has seen Gallagher fall out of England contention and he is understood to be considering his options. Though content with life in Madrid, the 25-year-old has expressed unhappiness at his lack of football.
In a recent interview with Spanish outlet Diario AS recently, Gallagher said: “I don’t think anyone is (content) if they’re not playing as much as they’d like. But I’ll keep working very hard to help the team whenever I have the chance, and hopefully more opportunities to be a starter will come.
“I’m very happy here. My goal is to win titles with Atleti and I want to have a bigger role in the team. And, as I’ve said, I’m going to keep working as hard as I can to play more minutes and help the team.
“I have spoken to (England manager) Thomas Tuchel and he has told me what he needs from me and what I have to do to return to the team. And it seems that, right now, it’s very difficult for me to get to that point.
“But, as I said before, I will continue to do my best to get more minutes and, hopefully, return to the national team.”
Sky Sports are reporting that almost every Premier League club has expressed past interest in Gallagher, with the exception of Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and former club Chelsea. Manchester United enquired about his availability late in the summer window and could return with renewed interest in 2026.
