EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea in contact for player who reminds Gianfranco Zola of himself in his playing days!

The Blues will be looking at any opportunities to bring players in, although largely we are not expecting Chelsea to be too busy in the winter market.

However, this is Chelsea, so there will always be something going on, even if it ends up being deals for the summer or interest for the summer.

According to a report from Caught Offside today written as an exclusive sourced article, Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.

The report claims that the 23-year-old centre-back is now being courted by several European heavyweights.

Chelsea have apparently been tracking Murillo closely since the summer, with manager Enzo Maresca identifying him as a key defensive target.

But there is competition for his signature

Chelsea face competition if they want to sign the centre back any time soon.

Arsenal have also entered the race ‘with serious intent’ as described by the report, but it’s not just them.

Barcelona apparently view Murillo as a crucial long-term investment as they look to rebuild their aging and injury-prone defence.

I personally can’t see Chelsea trying to sign Murillo at the moment, especially if there is big interest like that. I don’t think they will want to be involved in any bidding wars for a player who I think could end up being pretty expensive – Forest aren’t going to let go of him easily.
