Gallery: City's resilience earns incredible win in six-goal Arsenal showpiece | OneFootball

A Lauren Hemp brace plus strikes from Kerstin Casparij and Bunny Shaw completed a fantastic 4-2 comeback win over Arsenal to maintain our 100% league record.

In what was an end-to-end opening 45 minutes, City looked the brighter side, but it would be Arsenal who broke the deadlock.

Lisa Baum tapped home from close range on 43 minutes after a short Arsenal spell.

But Andrée Jeglertz’s side showed why we’re the reigning Barclays Women’s Super League champions when we provided the perfect response three minutes later.

Hemp’s deflected shot from the left wrong-footed Gunners goalkeeper Anneke Borbe.

Arsenal restored their lead through Alessia Russo four minutes into the second half.

City showcased resilience and determination again to find another equaliser, this time in the form of a Casparij first-time finish, with the Dutch defender providing impact from the bench with her first touch of the game.

Then, on 72 minutes, Hemp got her second of the afternoon, this time a low, composed finish from close-range to put City ahead.

None other than Shaw put the game to bed with less than 10 to play.

Played through by Aoba Fujino, our number nine placed the ball around Borbe to secure three points in what was a day to remember at the Etihad.
