Marc Guiu has slipped off Sevilla's striker shortlist as the Chelsea forward prioritises a move to Napoli over a LaLiga return, including interest from Sevilla and Real Sociedad. Talks between Chelsea and the Serie A club appear on track, although the final fee remains to be settled.
According to Fabrizio Romano, discussions are based on a figure above 15 million euros, while Chelsea value him closer to 25 million. The player’s stance has also been decisive.
Sevilla had monitored Guiu in recent weeks, with José Ignacio Navarro exploring him as an option for Nervión’s attack. Financially, however, the operation was difficult and Chelsea’s demands reduced the scope for an agreement.
Even so, Sevilla intend to add a third centre-forward before the window shuts to give Luis García Plaza further options. Petar Ratkov is gaining traction, while George Ilenikhena is viewed as a more complicated deal.
Guiu was born in Granollers on 4 January 2006 and joined Barcelona’s academy in 2013. He made his first-team debut in 2023/24 against Athletic Club, scoring within seconds of coming on to become Barcelona’s youngest LaLiga goalscorer.
Chelsea signed him in July 2024 for around six million euros. He had limited minutes in England but impressed in the Conference League with six goals, including a hat-trick, and totalled about 29 appearances and eight goals, plus a brief loan at Sunderland.
He now appears close to a switch to Italy, leaving Sevilla to step up their hunt in the final stretch of the window.
