Garro picks Flamengo’s Arrascaeta as Brasileirão’s best, calls Maracanã toughest ground | OneFootball

Corinthians midfielder Rodrigo Garro highlighted Flamengo in a quickfire online Q&A, naming Arrascaeta as the best player in the Brasileirão and calling the Maracanã the toughest ground he has played at. According to Coluna Do Fla, the Argentine gave his answers without hesitation.

Asked for the most beautiful stadium of his career, he chose his own Neo Química Arena.

Garro’s view of the Maracanã reflects results. He has faced Flamengo there twice and lost both. In the sixth round of the 2024 Brasileirão, Flamengo won 2-0, with goals from Pedro and Lorran.

Later that year in the Copa do Brasil, Flamengo won 1-0 at the Maracanã through Alex Sandro. They then held a 0-0 draw in São Paulo, faced Atlético-MG in the final and lifted the trophy for the fifth time.

In total, Garro has faced Flamengo seven times, once for Talleres and six for Corinthians. He has neither scored nor assisted in those games. Across those meetings, Arrascaeta scored once and helped Flamengo to two wins and three draws.
