Gary O'Neil, angered by Strasbourg’s 1-1 draw at Angers, will turn to academy prospects Tyrese Noubissie, Yaya Diémé and Yoann Becker for the run-in. According to L'Équipe, he plans to give them minutes with little left at stake.

He urged his players to prove over the final two games that they merit a place next season, saying he felt badly let down.

Noubissie, 16, impressed off the bench at Angers, completing all 21 passes. O'Neil said the midfielder had impressed and would feature more in the next two matches. He arrived injured last summer after spells at Leicester and Manchester City, joined the first-team group on 2 December under Liam Rosenior, then debuted in the 0-3 loss to Rennes on 19 April.

Diémé was tracked by BlueCo scouts and had an agreement in late 2024 to join. After a stint at Chelsea and visa issues, the Senegalese arrived on 5 January and soon started against Toulouse on 3 May and at Angers on 10 May. O'Neil said he barely knew him three weeks ago, yet he won the penalty for Julio Enciso and moves well and fast.

Becker, 17, is a highly rated centre-back in France’s U17s and has been selected for the Euro. He has been on Strasbourg’s teamsheet six times this season but has not debuted. He signed his first professional deal in late January to 2029, including a signing bonus and a week of tests at Chelsea, and at 1.96 m still needs to add speed.
