Millwall have had a mixed start to the new season but lacked the consistency they will need if they are to push for the play-offs this season.
However, a 2-0 victory against Middlesbrough at the weekend means the Lions are now two games unbeaten and they will be hoping they can build some momentum moving forward.
It was summer signing Zian Flemming that made the difference with the goals on Saturday as he scored a brace – taking his tally for the season to four goals.
Gary Rowett was keen to praise fellow new recruit Andreas Voglsammer for his performance too as he told London News Online: “What you saw today was a player who worked incredibly hard for his team. The amount of times he sprinted back, doubled up to help his full-back Danny [McNamara] out.
“He was good on the ball today. He put in a good cross for Zian – it would be an assist with a better finish. His rocket shot he hits, if Bradders scores [on the rebound] it would be an assist.
“I’m really pleased with him. I think the rest will come, like Zi, because they are good players.”
The boss credited both of his summer signings for the work they’re putting in off the pitch too, as he admitted: “We’ve got two players I would say that every day we’re trying to drag them off the training ground – and that’s Voglsammer and Flemming. They have set the bar for the other players. That’s because they are used to it with their culture – the way they are coached and the way they work abroad.
“They are getting their rewards because of that extra work.”

The Verdict:
Rowett made some good signings this summer and it’s looking as though Flemming and Voglsammer in particular are really starting to settle in which is encouraging for the Lions.
It seems the two new men are working really hard off the pitch and you can see that in their performances with goals and some great balls in from Voglsammer that will no doubt result in goals before long.
Rowett says these two players have set the standard in training now and if that is the case then we should see Millwall’s form continue as they plan to push up the table.
