Lazio have not officially announced Gennaro Gattuso as their new coach, but he is already at work, arriving at the Formello training ground today.

The club parted company with Maurizio Sarri by mutual consent after a difficult year with many discussions between the hierarchy and their tactician.

While Sarri is now heading towards Atalanta, he has been replaced by former Italy CT Gattuso, who resigned from his position after the failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

The ex-midfielder was spotted at the Formello training ground today, where he met with the directors to discuss the final details of the contract, and above all the transfer strategy.

He was accompanied by long-term assistant manager Luigi Riccio, team manager Stefan Derkum and director Alberto Bianchi.

The squad is expected to come together for medical tests on July 10 and begin pre-season training at Formello on July 13.
