Gattuso lands Josip Sutalo as Lazio complete loan from Ajax | OneFootball

Lazio have completed the loan signing of Croatian centre-back Josip Sutalo from Ajax for the 2026/27 campaign, with an option to buy. The move was announced on Saturday.

According to Glorioso 1904, neither club disclosed the figures, but reporting in Italy puts the loan at three million euros and the option at 7.5 million.

At 26, Sutalo departs Ajax after 108 appearances and four goals.

A Dinamo Zagreb academy graduate, he has 37 Croatia caps and started all four of the national team’s games at the last World Cup.

The switch to Italy follows heavy links with Benfica earlier this summer. Ajax were open to a permanent deal worth 12 to 13 million euros, and Lazio then opened formal talks.

Benfica, who had identified him as a defensive option, ultimately missed out.
