While addressing the player’s links to United and talk of a possible €55 million move, Romano added: “All of this is nonsense and completely untrue; Gavi is staying.”

The reputed journalist also reiterated that Rodri’s arrival will have no bearing on the young midfielder’s future, concluding: “Rodri’s move to Barcelona is simply excellent news for Gavi; their relationship is excellent. Rodri’s move does not in any way imply that Gavi wants to leave.”
