Gaviões da Fiel, Corinthians’ largest organised supporters’ group, staged a sold-out celebration at Neo Química Arena on Saturday to mark 57 years. Former leaders of the group attended, alongside shows from funk and pagode names.

The group turned 57 on 1 July, first marking it with a samba circle at its Bom Retiro headquarters for members, before extending festivities to a party in the stadium car park for non-members too. According to Meu Timao, the group paid R$ 200,000 to rent the Casa do Povo.

The programme ran for more than 10 hours, starting at 18:00 with a Gaviões samba set, then Salgadinho, MC Hariel, Bateria Ritmão, Belo and Sorriso Maroto, before MC Don Juan closed the night. Flags, fireworks and terrace chants, notably Poropopó, set the tone.

President Alexandre Domenico thanked attendees and founders, saying the event had taken hard work but came together. He said the arena was their home and recalled 2024, when, in his view, supporters helped lift Corinthians out of the relegation zone.

He restated the group’s stance of engagement since its founding in 1969, when backing the team was seen as extending beyond 90 minutes. He said unity across the fanbase had helped remove three former club presidents and insisted they would protect Corinthians through difficult times.
