AC Milan put in yet another disappointing performance last night as Parma prevailed 2-1, tearing the Rossoneri’s defence apart with ease. Several players struggled and today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport didn’t hold back on this front.

It was indeed a tough evening for Milan and with just one point in two games, the crisis has already arrived as highlighted by the pink newspaper. The defence hasn’t been fixed by Paulo Fonseca, if anything it’s worse than last season, and the next week will be crucial.

All of the ratings are listed below, but Strahinja Pavlovic was the undisputed top performer for Milan with a rating of 7.5/10. He made two crucial 1v1 last-ditch tackles and also stopped Parma on a few other occasions. A display that reminds us of Jaap Stam, per the newspaper.

The worst player, however, was Rafael Leao at 4/10 despite the assist. He failed to lead the team from the front and missed several chances. The pass that led to Parma’s winner was ‘absurd’, as the newspaper puts it, and a star like him should be helping the team – not the opposite.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s ratings

7.5: Strahinja Pavlovic.

6: Mike Maignan, Tijjani Reijnders, Christian Pulisic, Youssouf Fofana.

5.5: Fikayo Tomori.

5: Emerson Royal.

4.5: Yunus Musah.

4: Davide Calabria, Theo Hernandez, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Rafael Leao, Noah Okafor, Paulo Fonseca.
