The Megías family from Granada are enjoying a dream Sunday. They are set to watch their Athletic at San Mamés for the first time this afternoon, and an unexpected gift has made it even more special.

According to El Correo, the family have become an online sensation, particularly after Oihan Sancet sent a message to Antonio, the elder of the family, which inspired a fellow athleticzale to offer a touching gesture.

A supporter presented them with a painting showing the grandfather with his granddaughter, both in red and white, beside the building that hosts the ‘Soñar’ mural and the moment the gabarra cuts through the waters of the ría. The piece also carries the signatures of Athletic’s players.

The family were thrilled. The artist asked the 88-year-old if he liked it, and he nodded, visibly moved, as his granddaughter pointed out Sancet’s autograph, reminding him he was the one who had sent the video.

His wife said it would be hung in the living room.
