Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that winger Franck Surdez could be set for a return to Switzerland. A number of clubs in the Swiss league are said to be interested in the Gent winger, but the most concrete interest is from FC Sion. The side are currently sat sixth in the Swiss top flight, with seven wins, six draws and five defeats from their 18 games so far.
Suredez had a good start to his Gent career but has since struggled for consistency. Surdez only joined Gent in the winter window of the 2023/2024 season from Xamax in the second tier of Swiss football. During his first few months for Gent, Surdez played nine games and provided two assists. During his first full season with the Buffaloes, Surdez provided Gent with three goals and five assists in 35 games. So far this season he has played 16 games, with one goal and no assists. However, Surdez has only started four games for Gent in the Belgian Pro League this season.
