Villarreal striker Georges Mikautadze is a target for Tottenham Hotspur as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of the new campaign, according to Paul O Keefe.

Having bolster other areas of their squad, Spurs are now eyeing forward additions as they enter the final weeks of the summer window, continuing their spree under manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Ideally, they want to add a winger and another versatile attacker capable of operating both centrally and across the front line.

Mikautadze has established a reputation as one of European football’s most lethal inside-the-box finishers.

He scored 13 La Liga goals last season, 12 of which came from 53 attempts inside the penalty area at an impressive conversion rate of 22.6%.

Beyond his instinctive finishing, the striker boasts exceptional spatial awareness, quick feet in tight spaces, and a tireless work rate. His ability to link play effectively and run the channels would help Spurs in the final third.

While Tottenham do not have European commitments after last season’s 17th-place finish, they are still aiming for a well-rounded squad.

Signing a forward of Mikautadze’s calibre would create healthy competition for places. The Georgian is under contract at Estadio de la Ceramica until 2031, so any move would not come cheap.

La Liga giants Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the Georgian as an alternative to Julian Alvarez, meaning Tottenham may need to act quickly if they are to formalise their pursuit.

They remain active in their pursuit of winger Savinho, but a deal is yet to materialise after weeks of negotiations, with Manchester City reportedly wanting to secure a replacement before sanctioning a move.

Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo is also attracting interest from North London, and while Liverpool’s stance is that he is not for sale, that could change soon.
