Italian side Fiorentina believe there could be a window of opportunity to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Manor Solomon, using the player’s desire to return to Florence to help them.

Solomon is widely expected to move on from Tottenham this summer, despite positive performances on the club’s pre-season tour.

The Israeli has struggled to establish himself at the north London club, with injuries disrupting his progress and loan spells at Leeds United, Villarreal and Fiorentina following.

Solomon featured 16 times in Serie A during his loan spell, registering three goal contributions, but Fiorentina decided against activating their purchase option after considering the fee of €10m too high.

La Viola have retained an interest in bringing the Israeli back to Florence, with former Fiorentina star Sauro Fattori urging the club to make him a priority target.

The 27-year-old had also been heavily linked with West Ham United, but now it appears a switch to the Hammers will not happen.

According to Italian outlet Firenze Viola, that ‘could open a window of opportunity’ for Fiorentina, with Solomon ‘highly regarded’ by Fabio Paratici.

It is suggested that Fiorentina could use Solomon’s desire to return to push down his price as Tottenham’s valuation of the Israeli continues to be a stumbling block.

The Serie A side will be hoping the Lilywhites soften their demands for the winger towards the end of the transfer window which could make a swoop possible for them.

Spurs could look to cash in as they are still highly active in the transfer market despite having already spent significantly this summer to bolster their squad.

It remains to be seen where Solomon will play next season amid transfer interest.

Meanwhile, Spurs now face competition from Champions League side Galatasaray for Bilal El Khannouss, with the Turkish giants having opened talks over a deal.
