Born in Argentina and later naturalised, Berterame came through San Lorenzo’s ranks and debuted at 17 in the 2016 Copa Libertadores. In 2019 he joined second-tier Patronato on loan, scoring four and assisting one in 12 outings.

He moved to Liga MX side Atlético de San Luis later in 2019, striking 31 and providing six assists in 93 matches across four campaigns. He finished as Liga MX top scorer with nine goals in the 2022 Apertura.

A 2022 switch to Monterrey followed, where he delivered 68 goals and 15 assists in 153 appearances across all competitions, including Liga MX, FIFA Club World Cup, CONCACAF Champions Cup and Leagues Cup.

Internationally, he represented Argentina at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile before becoming eligible for Mexico in 2024. Since then he has scored two in eight appearances for El Tri. He now links up with the reigning MLS Cup champions as the club readies its squad for the 2026 season.
