German sources strongly refute reports of €8.5m Leon Goretzka transfer to Atletico | OneFootball

Spain’s Marca reports that Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich have reached an agreement on an immediate Leon Goretza transfer. The German national team midfielder will move to La Liga this winter, according to the Spanish report. Despite this, it appears as if a transfer will not go through. 

Are there conflicting reports?

Yes. Florian Plettenberg insists that no agreement has been reached yet. Moreover, Plettenberg denies that the two clubs have reached an agreement on a transfer fee. The Marca report suggests that Atletico interest has produced a full agreement on a €8.5m transfer fee for the €15m-valued midfielder. 

Kicker now claims that – according to their own internal sources – Atletico officials are not hopeful that Goretzka will agree to the transfer.

Kicker notes that Goretzka fells comfortable with his playing time at Bayern and does not wish to jeopardize his German national team prospects by switching clubs this winter.
