To cope with these significant absences, Klopp has brought in reinforcements: Florian Wirtz, Mainz striker Jonathan Burkardt, and midfielder Nadiem Amiri have all been added to the senior group.

There has also been a change in goal, with Beşiktaş goalkeeper Alexander Nübel set to start ahead of Marc-André ter Stegen as part of a planned rotation.
