Kevin Schade was linked with a move to Arsenal during the summer, but the Germany international ultimately remained at Brentford FC, where he is under contract until 2028.

According to TEAMtalk, Brentford have now opened talks with the former Freiburg winger over a contract extension as they look to fend off interest from the Gunners and other suitors.

The report adds that Brentford are determined to tie the 24-year-old down to a new deal, but talks are not expected to be straightforward, as Schade is aware of interest from other clubs and the opportunities that could become available to him.

Schade, who moved to England in 2023, has made five appearances for the German national team.

He was called up for Germany's friendlies in March but was subsequently left out of the World Cup squad by then-head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

The 24-year-old will now hope to work his way back into the national team under DFB head coach Jürgen Klopp.
