Three Brentford players have been nominated for Premier League awards following the Bees’ unbeaten start to the 2026/27 season.

Mamadou Sangaré is in contention for August’s Player of the Month prize, while Keane Lewis-Potter and Kevin Schade have been shortlisted for Goal of the Month.

Mamadou Sangaré

Summer signing Sangaré has been a driving force in Brentford’s unbeaten start to the campaign.

The midfielder registered an assist during the Bees’ 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, combining brilliantly with Dango Ouattara before pulling the ball back for Lewis-Potter to score.

Sangaré has dominated the centre of the pitch, making 27 defensive contributions, including 12 recoveries, six tackles and five interceptions. He has won 12 duels and created four chances.

The Mali international is shortlisted alongside Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal), Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), João Pedro (Chelsea), Konstantinos Tzolakis (Hull City) and Yoane Wissa (Newcastle United).

Keane Lewis-Potter, Brentford v Tottenham Hotspur

Brentford’s first goal of the Premier League season arrived after 12 minutes of their 3-0 win over Tottenham, concluding a move of real quality.

Having taken up an advanced position, Sangaré collected the ball from Nathan Collins and exchanged passes with Ouattara before pulling it back for the arriving Lewis-Potter, who swept a first-time finish beyond Antonín Kinský.

Kevin Schade, Leeds United v Brentford

Schade’s sublime flick during the Bees' 1-1 draw with Leeds United has also earned a place on the shortlist.

Five minutes before the break, Sangaré moved the ball wide to Jaidon Anthony, whose cross was headed back into a central position.

Sangaré regained possession and, after his shot was blocked, the ball fell to Lewis-Potter on the left side of the penalty area. His near-post delivery was expertly turned into the far corner by Schade.

The Brentford duo face competition from Emersonn (Ipswich Town), Nilson Angulo (Sunderland), Joe Willock (Newcastle United), Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Anthony Elanga (Newcastle United) and Cole Palmer (Chelsea).
