Gerson and Marcão ‘face’ lawsuit over alleged unpaid loan as Flamengo pursues claim | OneFootball

Gerson and his father, Marcão, are being sued by Gabriela Maria Antunes Alves over an alleged unpaid loan, with proceedings opened on 28 August at the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice. According to Metrópoles, the agreement was for R$ 200,000 to be repaid in 20 monthly instalments.

The claimant says only the first two instalments were honoured, after which payments stopped. She has taken the case to court to recover the money.

Her action seeks R$ 300,000 and asks for the midfielder’s wages to be frozen to secure repayment. The request also targets sums due to Marcão from football-related sources, including Cruzeiro.

The Rio court will now assess the viability of the requested freezes, and the case remains at an early stage.

Separately, Flamengo have an open action against Gerson and Marcão over alleged early termination of contract, claiming about R$ 42.7 million. The club continues to pursue the matter through the courts.

Marcão accuses the Flamengo board of a set-up and denies that his company received a R$ 42 million advance in a previous deal.

Gerson left Flamengo in July 2025 after Zenit (RUS) paid his release clause of 25 million euros, around R$ 160 million at the time, when he was captain. His defence says he renewed his contract without noticing a drastic cut to that clause, which had previously stood at 200 million euros, or R$ 1.1 billion.
