Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah is weighing up an international switch after Ghana made a renewed push for his allegiance.
Evening Standard reports he is considering a fresh proposal to represent the Black Stars, who have long tracked the former Arsenal forward.
Born in Lewisham to Ghanaian parents, Nketiah starred for England’s youth sides and is the all-time leading scorer for the Under-21s. At 27, he has not committed his senior future and is still assessing his options.
He won his only England cap under Gareth Southgate in October 2023, coming on for Ollie Watkins in the 73rd minute of a 1-0 friendly win over Australia at Wembley.
Current FIFA rules mean only players with more than three competitive senior games before turning 21 are tied to a nation. As his appearance was a friendly, he remains free to switch to Ghana.
After an injury-hit year, Nketiah has started all three Premier League matches this season under new Palace manager Pierre Sage. His club form could influence interest from both national teams.
A decision looms as qualification campaigns approach, whether to join Ghana’s plans or keep faith with an England recall.
