Oliver Glasner reveals message to Morgan Gibbs-White after late England call-up | OneFootball

Oliver Glasner says Morgan Gibbs-White’s England minutes are merited by his Nottingham Forest form, after he received a late call-up when Cole Palmer withdrew from Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions squad for this four-game camp. He cut short a family holiday in Dubai to join the squad.

“I texted him, because I knew that he would go abroad with his family,” he said, speaking to Nottingham Post. “So I texted him. He loves to play for England.”

Gibbs-White has played 16 minutes across the first two Nations League games against Spain and Czech Republic, and hopes for more in the remaining two. “I'm really pleased for him that he got a few minutes in both games, because he deserves it. Really positive for him.”

Glasner expects several Forest players to return to the Nigel Doughty Academy in good spirits as the Premier League resumes in a little more than a week. Many have impressed.

Dan Ndoye was a standout for Switzerland in midweek, providing two assists on Tuesday as Scotland lost 3-0. “Every player can gain a lot, because you get confidence when you have good performances.”

“Dan had a great performance against Scotland.” “Xaver Schlager captained Austria for the first time in his career. Ousmane (Diomande) and Ibrahim (Sangare), when they played, Cote d’Ivoire won the game 2-0 (against Ghana).”

“I think many of the players are getting minutes, having good performances and getting good results. This is where you get confidence from.”
