Ghana have made a fresh approach to Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah over a potential switch from England to the Black Stars.
The Standard understands the Black Stars’ interest is longstanding, and the 27-year-old is weighing his options with no final decision made.
Nketiah earned his first and only England cap in October 2023, replacing Ollie Watkins in the 73rd minute of a 1-0 friendly win against Australia at Wembley Stadium.
Born in Lewisham to Ghanaian parents, he represented England at youth level and is the Under-21s’ record goalscorer.
FIFA rules state that only players with more than three competitive senior caps before turning 21 are tied to one nation, so Nketiah remains eligible for Ghana.
Ghana are keen to add further proven Premier League experience to their squad, while Nketiah continues to assess his international future.
