According to ANSA, Serie A referees chief Gianluca Rocchi has apologised for the second booking shown to Pierre Kalulu during Inter Milan’s 3-2 win over Juventus on Saturday.
Rocchi, who also oversees Serie B, made the apology in a telephone call. The second yellow followed a foul on Alessandro Bastoni and led to Kalulu’s dismissal.

He said La Penna’s decision was clearly wrong and admitted they were unable to use VAR to correct the mistake.
Rocchi added that La Penna was mortified, but argued that Bastoni’s reaction involved obvious simulation.
He concluded that the episode was the latest in a long run in which, in his view, people in the league try by every means to cheat referees.
