Giovani dos Santos made it two wins from two as he led América to a 3-1 win over Querétaro in the eLiga MX.
Marcel Ruiz was at the controller for Querétaro, and he got off to an electric start with a flowing passing move that ended with a rocket to the net by Ariel Nahuelpán.
Despite that early disappointment, dos Santos composed himself and levelled matters through Roger Martínez’s first goal of the tournament.
Las Águilas would dominate the remainder of the opening half, and made it count via a Henry Martín brace.
There would be no further scoring as dos Santos maintained his 100% record and registered the Azulcrema’s third win from five games.
The victory moves América up to seventh in the eLiga MX table.
Defensive midfielder Santiago Cáseres will have responsibility for the next game against Atlas on Tuesday.
