Valencia are standing firm, refusing to let left-back Jesús Vázquez leave, whether on a sale or a loan.

According to AS, Claudio Giráldez remains intent on Jesús Vázquez, though he is also scanning alternatives because Mestalla will not consider a sale. Despite Carlos Corberán blocking any exit, sporting director Marco Garcés is exploring ways to persuade Valencia, with only a permanent transfer on the table.

Celta are open to a cash deal or to adding players. Two options proposed are left-back Manu Sánchez, after his Levante loan, and centre-back Unai Nuñez, who impressed during a six-month spell in Valencia. With three competitions ahead, Giráldez wants to see him in pre-season.

In Financial Fair Play terms, Manu and Unai would cost four or five times more than Vázquez, so those packages are ruled out. Moreover, Corberán categorically rejects any departure, despite Vázquez starting nine of his 24 league games, and he trusts the full-back.

Vázquez is under contract until 2028 and wants to make his career at Valencia, the only club he has represented. He renewed by only one year two summers ago and accepted his role despite interest from Getafe and Osasuna. He wants regular football if his displays warrant it.

He delivered when selected this season, but lacked continuity. José Luis Gayà logged 2,531 league minutes, third most in the squad. Vázquez played 961, 20th, only ahead of Unai Nuñez, Sadiq, Santamaria, Diakhaby, Renzo and Raba, and, with Gayà available, he started only two matches, Girona and Celta.
