Girona FC has presented its new goalkeeper, Rubén Blanco, today in a press conference held at the Club's facilities. President Delfí Geli praised the addition of the Galician goalkeeper, highlighting his contribution both on and off the field. Geli emphasized that “Rubén will help us achieve and reach all our goals.” The president also highlighted the competitiveness that Blanco will bring to the group: “With his work, he will make everyone compete at their best.”

Rubén Blanco explained that he arrives “physically in top shape and training with my teammates at a good pace. I also take this opportunity to send my best wishes to Ter Stegen.” The goalkeeper reflected on the specific role of his position: “Goalkeepers are different in mentality compared to outfield players, and throughout our careers, we experience both good and challenging moments.”

Regarding his first hours as a red-and-white, Blanco highlighted the warm welcome from the locker room: “The first impressions with the team have been very good, my new teammates convey a lot of energy. The initial feedback has been wonderful.” He also revealed that he had been following Girona's progress for some time: “I have always closely followed Girona's project. Things are being done very well. It shows that the Club has very solid foundations.”

Regarding the competition for the goalkeeper position, Blanco supports a demanding but constructive scenario: “It will be very healthy competition among the goalkeepers. Each one has their personal goals, but they must be compatible with those of the team.” On a collective note, the goalkeeper is clear that Girona is well-positioned to continue growing: “We have all the conditions to achieve good dynamics.”
