Bordeaux supporters have alleged abusive searches at Saturday’s National 2 match in Bayonne, with a fans’ group condemning intrusive pat-downs of women.

Ultramarines Bordeaux 1987 said in a post on X on Tuesday that several female fans reported exaggerated pat-downs, including contact with intimate areas. They said these were carried out by Aviron Bayonnais private security and by police, describing the acts as humiliating and unacceptable.

The collective added that supporters’ physical integrity and privacy must never be violated to enter a stadium, and that it takes the alleged abuses very seriously and will not let them go unchallenged.

According to Ici Gironde, the Her Game Too association, which combats sexism in sport, had received about 20 reports on its platform by Wednesday.

Some female supporters have said they intend to file complaints.
