Borussia Mönchengladbach have registered interest in SV Darmstadt 98 striker Isac Lidberg and have made contact over a summer move, according to Sky Germany.

The Rhineland club have reportedly approached both the 27-year-old and Darmstadt. Whether those efforts lead to a deal remains to be seen.

The three-time Swedish international scored 17 goals in 30 games in the recently finished second division season.

His contract runs until 2027, which leaves Darmstadt under considerable pressure to sell.

The Hessen side have already lost fellow striker Frasier Hornby, who has joined VfL Wolfsburg.

Although Haris Tabakovic is unlikely to return to Gladbach, Lidberg could face stiff competition from Tim Kleindienst for a starting spot.
