According to Tipsbladet, Borussia Mönchengladbach are pursuing Viborg centre-back Lukas Kirkegaard and have had an initial €3.5million offer rejected.
The 20-year-old is valued at about €4.5million, with Viborg aiming for a club record sale, a price the Bundesliga side currently appear unwilling to meet.
Kirkegaard is reportedly high on Gladbach's shortlist as they look to bolster their defence and hope to bring him to the Rhineland.
He is under contract with Viborg until 2028. Last season he made 25 appearances in all competitions and became a regular starter.
For any agreement to advance, Gladbach would need to move closer to Viborg's valuation.
