Celtic and Feyenoord are ready to activate Tjark Ernst’s €5m release clause, but Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach have joined the race to sign the 23-year-old Hertha Berlin goalkeeper, according to Bild.
Gladbach’s current No.1, Moritz Nicolas, has received four concrete offers, add Bild: one from an unnamed Bundesliga club, which he reportedly won’t accept, one from recently relegated Wolfsburg, one from Spain and one from England. And thus, Die Fohlen are in the market for a new No.1 which has led them towards Ernst.
After Hertha failed to secure a Bundesliga return, it’s increasingly likely that Ernst will leave the Old Lady this summer. Both Celtic and Feyenoord can offer UEFA Champions League football, while playing in Germany’s top flight also remains an interesting proposition for the former German youth international, who kept 11 clean sheets in 33 2. Bundesliga games in 2025/26.
