Borussia Mönchengladbach confirmed on Saturday that central midfielder Jens Castrop will be sidelined for months with a shoulder injury sustained in the 15-0 win over FC Rottach-Egern on Wednesday.

It is the third setback of pre-season for Gladbach, with Fabio Chiarodia and new signing Juchym Konoplija also picking up injuries.

Castrop was a regular last season after arriving from 2. Bundesliga side Nürnberg.
