Nottingham Forest boss Oliver Glasner says Arnaud Kalimuendo will have a chance to prove himself at the club – but is unsure of what his future holds as of yet.

Kalimuendo spent the second half of last season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, who are believed to be keen on a permanent deal for the forward.

But the 24-year-old scored in Forest’s 2-0 pre-season win over Notts County, along with Igor Jesus, and Glasner praised the France attacker after the victory.

“So far, everybody is very ambitious and hard-working in training,” he told the Nottingham Post. “Everyone deserves to play and show what they are capable of.

“He had a fantastic game today, not just with the goal he scored. He found very good positions between the lines.

“The transfer market starts to heat up. We don’t really know what will happen in the next few weeks – so many things can happen. Right now he is a player of Nottingham Forest and he gets the chance, like everyone else.”

On the win, Glasner added: “It was a very good first test. It was a great atmosphere here against Notts County in front of 15,000 fans and 6,000 Forest fans. It’s a fantastic opener for us after four days in training and I’m really pleased with the performance.

“We scored some lovely goals and we defended very well as a team. Some things did not work how we want them to in the future, but after only four days there were lots of positive aspects. I’m really pleased with what the players offered today.”
