Liverpool's goalkeeping department is one of the strongest in the world but one player is now leaving the club.

From Alisson Becker to Giorgi Mamardashvili there is a really strong core of goalkeepers at Anfield right now.

In the aforementioned duo you probably have two of the best goalkeepers in the world right now, competing for that no.1 spot.

Then behind them there's the experience of Freddie Woodman, who has plenty of years in England's second tier. Liverpool's fourth choice is Armin Pecsi, who again has a lot of experience in senior football in Hungary despite his tender age. He's regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers in European football right now and was even nominated for the Golden Boy award.

With those options there's also a number of players you can keep your eyes on in the academy. Kornel Misciur regularly sits on the bench in the Champions League games, and his big size and fantastic reflexes give him the potential to go far.

There's Vitezslav Jaros out on loan, who is catching the eye at Ajax and also playing Champions League matches regularly.

Other academy goalkeepers to be aware of are Bailey Hall and DJ Bernard, who are also both highly rated.

Liverpool have a very rich tradition of developing elite goalkeepers. Peter Gulacsi was a product who became one of the best keepers in the Bundesliga.

Caoimhin Kelleher is slowly establishing himself as one of the best in the Premier League. Kamil Grabara is also doing the same in the Bundesliga.

There's a real cohort of talented goalkeepers who represented the club and it's an area where Liverpool are particularly strong.

But not everyone can make it at the club.

Taking to his Instagram account, U16 academy goalkeeper Harry Lee Frith announced that he's leaving the club after over seven years at Liverpool.

In an emotional message, Frith wrote the following statement:

"After over 7 years at Liverpool Football Club, the time has come to say goodbye. I have been proud to represent the club across the world and I would like to sincerely thank all the staff and coaches who supported my development, both professionally and personally. I am grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and relationships formed along the way. I now look forward to the next chapter in my football career."

It's a difficult time for young players in academy football right now. December is normally the time of the year when those player playing at U16 level find out whether they are going to be offered scholarships at their respective clubs or not.

As a result a number of academy players have left Liverpool, Kai Morral is another one who has joined Leeds United.

Frith was regarded as a bit of a goalkeeping sensation, and was part of the squad that travelled to Japan to play the J.League select side this summer.
