Union Berlin will be without goalkeeper Matheo Raab for the coming weeks after a hand injury, the club said this evening.

The 27-year-old was hurt just before the final whistle in yesterday’s 1-0 win at SC Freiburg on Matchday 27.

The problem is believed to have stemmed from his save to deny Jan-Niklas Beste in the 11th minute of injury time.

Raab’s late stop proved pivotal in securing an important away victory in Breisgau.

With Raab sidelined and first-choice Frederik Rønnow nursing a foot injury, 32-year-old Carl Klaus could be in line to start against Bayern Munich.
