Cadena COPE reports that Goldman Sachs has offered Sevilla €300 million to accelerate construction of a new Sánchez-Pizjuán from June 2027, yet the club is hesitant over accepting the proposal amid ownership uncertainty.

The US bank was already involved when Sevilla sought a €180 million loan several seasons ago. Its influence has grown since, with representatives in Seville last week to advance talks.

José María del Nido Carrasco has repeatedly outlined a desire to start work in 2027. Even so, the club’s finances and the shareholder picture raise doubts over whether the current leading investors can carry a project of this size.

Goldman Sachs is also said to have included an immediate exploitation plan for the new ground to make the operation viable from the outset. The bank would provide funding even without a sale, although that stance could shift if a buyer emerges, at which point construction would be tied to any takeover process.

Sevilla continue to prepare documentation so a new stadium can proceed when the moment arrives, but the 2027 timetable is far from guaranteed. The current top shareholders are not minded to assume the risk of starting such a large build for now, the report said. As a result, the project’s future appears closely linked to the sale scenario and the club’s next financial decisions.
