Gonçalo Oliveira close to Rennes switch in €3.5m Benfica deal | OneFootball

Gonçalo Oliveira is close to swapping Benfica for Rennes, with a deal expected to be finalised in the coming days, according to Glorioso 1904.

The 19-year-old centre-back, a standout for Benfica B and captain of the second string, is preparing to continue his career in France.

The move could be worth around €3.5m. With his contract up at the end of next season, Benfica viewed this window as the last chance to secure a fee.

Rennes secured Europa League football after finishing sixth in Ligue 1 last season, offering a competitive project. Despite multiple first-team call-ups at Benfica in recent campaigns, Oliveira did not make his senior debut.

In 2025/26 with Benfica, he made 33 official appearances, 24 in the Liga Portugal Meu Super and nine in the UEFA Youth League. Across 2,882 minutes he scored four goals and supplied two assists. He is valued at €2m.
