The future of Leon Goretzka at FC Bayern is once again coming into focus, with the Munich club apparently already sounding out the market for possible alternatives in central midfield
According to transfer expert David Ornstein, FC Bayern are among several top clubs who could make a bid for Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson this summer. In addition to Munich, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea FC are also said to be interested in the English midfielder. Anderson is a dynamic central midfielder with great running ability – a profile that would fit in well with Bayern’s long-term plans
However, Nottingham Forest have a clear asking price, with the Premier League club reportedly demanding a transfer fee of between £80m and £100m for Anderson. This equates to around €93m to €116m. A package of this size would put the England international in the absolute top category of the transfer market and shows just how highly Forest rate the 22-year-old internally
The connection to Goretzka is obvious. The German international’s contract expires in the summer of 2026, when he could leave the club on a free transfer. There have been internal discussions for some time about what the future should look like in midfield – also in view of the fact that Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic are firmly planned and another talent, Tom Bischof, is already moving up

Due to this personnel situation, however, it is questionable whether the Bayern bosses would really spend so much money on a Goretzka replacement. It is more likely that they would rather go for a talent with prospects who can take the next step behind Kimmich and Pavlovic.
