According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds United do not expect to confirm the signing of Harry Wilson until next week, with the move said to be agreed and no fear of a Daniel James-style collapse.
The Whites and Wilson agreed terms last week, 10 months after a failed deadline-day attempt to prise him from Fulham. He has since run down his Craven Cottage contract and left as a free agent.
That free agent status, allied to a career-best Premier League season of 10 goals and seven assists in 36 games, drew rival interest. But the 29-year-old has chosen the club who were willing to pay a fee for him last year.
The lack of noise since the story broke has unsettled some supporters, given past late U-turns. The delay is understood to be logistical, focused on timings and getting the winger into the building, with no panic inside the club.
Once confirmed, Wilson will join Wales team-mates for pre-season later this month. Leeds head to the USA for games against Wrexham, Sunderland and Liverpool, then return to host RB Leipzig on August 8 and FB Augsburg on August 15, with a Dublin trip to face Manchester United in between.
