Leeds United edged a point closer to safety with a 0-0 draw against Brentford at Elland Road, a contest short on chances and cutting edge. It was the second scoreless meeting between the sides this season.
Defences controlled the first half, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin beating Caoimhín Kelleher to a looping cross before the danger was cleared, and Igor Thiago scuffing a half chance after troubling Jaka Bijol. As reported by yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, neither team created a serious opening.
The pattern barely shifted after the break. Both teams had spells of pressure without carving out a clear opportunity, and Farke introduced Noah Okafor and Ao Tanaka in search of a breakthrough that never arrived.
Player ratings reflected the stalemate. Karl Darlow earned a solid seven, assured when called upon, although his kicking mixed tidy moments with the odd rushed clearance.
Joe Rodon received six for robust defending and a willingness to step forward, met by a red and white wall. Jaka Bijol also took six, strong in the air but without causing enough havoc in the opposition box.
Pascal Struijk was marked at five after a shaky first half in possession, improving after the interval with some determined defending and carries. Jayden Bogle also got five, lacking composure in promising attacking moments.
Ethan Ampadu was given six, pressing with intent and finding Bogle with a decent long pass that fashioned a half chance.
