Scott Bain made sharp saves to deny Tyreece John-Jules as The Bairns held firm. Toby Oluwayemi also stood up for Kilmarnock, parrying efforts from Wilson and Alfie Agyeman.

Kilmarnock introduced Scott Tiffoney, Marcus Dackers and Ben Brannan, and the latter twice delivered for Dackers, whose headers drifted off target late on.

Seven minutes were signalled for added time and Dackers threatened again, but Bain gathered and The Bairns saw it out.

Kilmarnock registered 15 attempts and 55.5% possession without reward. The Bairns produced 10 attempts with committed defending, making 44 clearances.

Kilmarnock visit St Mirren next. The Bairns travel to Dundee.
