Grêmio closed the first half of 2026 with an average of 23,836 paying supporters per home game at the Arena, reflecting a renewed bond with fans since taking over stadium operations last year.
According to Globo.com, they played 19 home matches across four competitions, with the Campeonato Gaúcho opener held behind closed doors after sanctions for incidents at the Gre-Nal on the eighth of March last year. Across the other 18 dates, 429,053 paying fans attended, or 438,199 in total, giving an average of 24,344.
So far there have been nine Brasileirão fixtures, six in the state championship, three in the Copa Sudamericana and one in the Copa do Brasil. The biggest gates were 49,770 for the Gre-Nal final and 42,089 against Corinthians, the last league round before the World Cup break.
The lowest turnouts came in the state’s early phase and in Sudamericana games, including 13,358 against Argentina’s Deportivo Riestra.
A new ticketing model launched this year, with advance, customisable packages for Brasileirão and Sudamericana matches. Members were offered a free ticket for the Coritiba game, which drew 35,164 paying fans, and the average league crowd since then has stayed above 30,000, including 30,617 against Flamengo and 37,113 against Santos.
On the pitch, Grêmio have 11 wins, five draws and three defeats at home, a 66 per cent return. They went 13 home matches unbeaten into May, more than 100 days, before losing to Flamengo in round 15 of the league.
They then beat Palestino and Santos, drew with City Torque, and lost to Corinthians, and are scheduled to host Fluminense on 26 July.
