Grêmio resumed training on Saturday after reaching the Copa do Brasil semi-finals on Thursday. Luís Castro now weighs absences and late fitness calls for Monday’s Campeonato Brasileiro trip to Vitória at Barradão, kick-off 20:00.

According to Globo.com, left-back Marlon is suspended after a third yellow card, and midfielder Dodi remains out with a patellar avulsion diagnosed on 19 August. Forward Jovane Cabral, who felt a muscle issue in the warm-up against Chapecoense, has not yet returned to full training and was not listed for Gre-Nal 454 at the Arena.

The main doubt is Amuzu. Castro said the winger has been playing in pain, so he could be rested on Monday.

Nardoni is an option to start if fatigue rules out Villasanti or Krovinovic, who have carried heavy minutes. Centre-back Wallace has played eight games in a row and may also be managed, while right-back Diego Caito featured in the Gre-Nal with pain in his left shoulder and trained on Saturday at CT Luiz Carvalho.

Probable XI: Weverton in goal, a back four of Diego Caito, Gustavo Martins, Wallace and Pedro Gabriel, a midfield of Noriega, Villasanti and Krovinovic or Nardoni, and a front three of Pavon or Tetê, Carlos Vinicius and Amuzu or Enamorado.

Grêmio train again on Sunday morning, when Luís Castro is expected to settle on his team. The squad travel in the afternoon to Bahia.
