Grêmio have finalised paperwork to terminate Cristaldo’s contract and release the midfielder to join Talleres. His agreement with the Argentine side is expected in the coming days.
According to Globo.com, the clubs are completing the final formalities and the move is close to being made official. Cristaldo had been under contract until December.
The 29-year-old last played on 7 February, starting the win over Novo Hamburgo before being withdrawn at half-time. He was then an unused substitute in the draw with Juventude in the first Gauchão semi-final. In the Brasileirão, he was only named for the defeat to Fluminense in the first round.
Grêmio have also pushed through a final wave of departures this week. Midfielder Cuéllar agreed a contract termination that will cost about R$ 15 million. Forward Aravena has joined Portland Timbers on loan, while Edenilson previously agreed to leave for Botafogo.
Signed at the end of 2022 for around R$ 20 million, Cristaldo was a standout the following year. He made 165 appearances for the club, registering 28 goals and 21 assists.
