Grêmio have lodged their first offer to keep captain Arthur, proposing a deal through to the end of 2028. Any agreement still hinges on Juventus, with his loan due to expire on 30 June.

According to Globo.com, the proposal was formalised last Friday and the club are awaiting a response to the terms. There are understood to be obstacles to the midfielder remaining in Porto Alegre.

Grêmio have asked Arthur and his representatives to seek Juventus’s release. The midfielder is under contract in Turin until mid next year and has made clear that this situation takes precedence, despite his wish to stay.

Juventus attempted to include defender Viery in talks to free the Grêmio captain. The Brazilian club do not plan to involve him and are seeking a fee close to 20 million euros for the youngster.

Elsewhere, there has been outside interest. Fluminense have recently enquired, while Como signalled their interest months ago. In late May, Arthur said he was still waiting for clearer guidance from Juventus before advancing discussions.
