July opens the transfer window and allows players in the final six months to agree pre-contracts. According to Globo.com, Grêmio have seven in that bracket, three starters.
The headline case is centre-forward Carlos Vinicius, the club’s top scorer. His deal runs to year-end with an automatic one-year extension. He has 19 goals in 25 games in 2026, including the friendly against Cascavel last Saturday.
Talks are under way to extend to the end of 2028, but no agreement has been reached and discussions are stalled. This month the club let captain Arthur leave after deciding they could not meet his costs.
Another starter, Amuzu, has held initial contact about a longer deal but talks have not progressed. Pavon, now operating at right-back, has also opened renewal discussions without a resolution.
Willian began Saturday’s friendly but is not a guaranteed starter. His deal runs to December with an option, yet there have been no talks and he prefers to revisit it nearer year-end.
Marcos Rocha and Dodi also have no talks in progress, and indications are they are not in next season’s plans. An early exit, particularly for the right-back, is not ruled out, and the club have tried to sign Diego Caito, 22, from Goiás for the role.
Caio Paulista is on loan from Palmeiras until year-end. The left-back has lost out to youngster Pedro Gabriel while Marlon nears a return. Indications are he will not remain at Grêmio.
