Grêmio will be without Willian and Monsalve for Sunday’s Gauchão semi-final second leg against Juventude, scheduled for 18:00 at Alfredo Jaconi.

According to Globo.com, there had been hope both midfielders would be available for the second leg, but neither has been selected.

Willian is sidelined with muscle oedema. Monsalve is in the final phase of recovery from a left thigh muscle injury, and both had been monitored as possibilities.

Their absence leaves the midfield role open. Options for the position include Jefinho, Riquelme and Gabriel Mec. Cristaldo, another midfielder, is also out and is in negotiations to leave Grêmio.

A likely Grêmio XI is Weverton in goal, a back four of João Pedro, or Marcos Rocha, Balbuena, Wagner Leonardo and Marlon, a midfield of Noriega, Arthur and Tiaguinho, with Jefinho an option, and a front three of Pavon, Amuzu and Carlos Vinicius.

Forward Tetê also misses out with a muscle injury sustained in the first leg of the semi-final.
