Grêmio ‘make initial contact’ for Bitello amid midfield push | OneFootball

Grêmio’s recruitment drive under Luis Castro has turned to a familiar face, with midfield regarded inside the club as the priority. Bitello, 26, now at Dínamo Moscou, has been sounded out.

GE reports that Grêmio made an enquiry to understand the terms of a potential deal, and were told the asking price is about 20 million euros (R$ 124.6 million).

From June, his release clause drops to 18 million euros (R$ 112 million). Interest has come from Brazil and overseas, and his next move remains undecided.

Sold by Grêmio to Dínamo Moscou in 2023, Bitello has continued to attract attention. Flamengo, Palmeiras and Botafogo have tracked him in recent years, though the Russian club have been reluctant to let him go.

Away from Bitello, Grêmio are in active talks to sign Argentine midfielder Guido Rodríguez, 31, currently with West Ham, with negotiations ongoing.
